Healthy Granola

For those of you are healthy, this is the perfect breakfast/snack for you. Here is a brilliant recipe for granola you can eat with some milk or yogurt.

For the Granola:

  • 200g mixed nuts, such as, almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts, pecan
  • 500g porridge oats
  • 100g mixed seeds, such as, sunflower, chia, pumpkin, sesame
  • 80g honey
  • 2tbsp olive oil
  • 100g dried fruits, such as, cranberries, blueberries, apricots.

In terms of the nuts, seeds and dried fruits, you can change whatever you want. You can use other types of dried fruits, I however don’t like dried fruits hence use only a little bit of it.

In a food processor roughly bash up the nuts leave some fine and some chunky.

In a large bowl, mix the nuts, oats, seeds, honey and oil together well to coat.

On a chopping board, roughly chop any large dried fruit.

Divide between 2 large baking trays and spread out evenly.

Leave in the oven till golden brown. Once golden, remove the trays from the oven and leave to cool.

Once cool, store in an air tight container. If you live in an area that is extremely humid, the granola can tend to get soggy rather quickly.

Serve the granola with milk or yoghurt and some fresh fruit.
